Jacob Raphael Bio:
Through poetry and song, Jacob Raphael (he/him), envisions a world rooted in the power of interdependence, beauty, and the search for truth. Weaving together the idioms of American folk and blues music with the ancient modes of Jewish prayer melodies, Jake’s music explores paradox, grief, joy, and moral complexity. Based in Philadelphia, PA, Jake has played across the country, including performances at World Cafe Live, Duke University, and cozy house concerts in West Philly. His first album, Dreams of Loss and Light, a poetic exploration of grief and nostalgia, was later adapted into a visual collage of puppets, music, light, and shadow which toured up and down the east coast. As an educator, Jake has taught folk guitar, songwriting, therapeutic music-making, peacebuilding skills, and somatic connection, empowering students to find their own voices and sense of deeply rooted embodiment. Jake believes in the power of music to build community and open the heart and soul.
An Triangles Bio:
An Triangles is the recording project of Boston-based songwriter and multi instrumentalist Doug Poppe, who, honoring the pithy, detached wisdom of David Berman along with the creative abundance of Alex G, arrives at a brand of lo-fi indie rock that is his own. As in his first single, “Ridicule,” praised by Two Story Melody for its “rich and complex” instrumentation and philosophical lyricism—and deemed a “stunning debut” and “triumphant debut” by York Calling and Find No Enemy—Poppe crafts detailed songs with distinct personalities, melding unorthodox, meticulous technique with straightforward pop appeal.
