Birdie Busch's enthusiasm for the stories of humans through the medium of song has been her main connection to this world and how she has decided to navigate the rich experience of her relationships to people, places and objects. Philadelphia has always been an ongoing muse. She has come to treat this city as its own country, or perhaps its own world, and she has come to know so many of its people, all rich and meandering in their journey, and feel akin to them. She sees it all through an acute and unique sense of memory.
Her striving to reveal things in a way that doesn’t seem like a dissertation but rather a keyhole, always makes her work seem fresh and interesting–a vivid angle that comes from a deep understanding for what connects us all in this great metropolis and beyond. She has put out records on adventurous independents like Bar/None, Styles Upon Styles, PIAPTK, and Perpetual Doom. She is always up for joining other talented folks that seek to make great work, inspire people, and see what happens.
